Pair of “Barcelona” Chair by Mies Van der Rohe in Smoked Platinum Velvet

One of the most iconic pieces of the 20th Century, the Barcelona chair encapsulates Ludwig Mies Van Der Rohe's famous maxim "less is more." Van der Rohe originally designed the chair for the German Pavilion for the International Exposition of 1929 hosted in Barcelona, Spain. While the majority of objects made by Bauhaus designers were created for the "common man," this chair was realized, largely by hand, for the comfort of the Spanish royalty within the sumptuous halls of the German Pavilion. With its clean lines and timeless form, this piece would be a winning addition to any style of interior from classic Mid Century Modern to contemporary. It has been newly reupholstered in platinum velvet and is in excellent condition. Dimensions: 33 in.Hx29.75 in.Wx33 in.D
